Do you offer a consultation before I hire you?
Yes. Initial calls are short and low-pressure. The goal is to figure out whether we're the right fit and give you a real sense of next steps and pricing before any engagement is signed. For personal injury and estate planning matters, the first consultation is free.
How do your fees work?
Estate planning and business formation are typically flat fee, quoted in writing after the consultation. Outside General Counsel is flat-fee monthly retainer or hourly with a cap. Personal injury is contingency: no fee unless we recover. Litigation is hourly with regular budget updates. No surprise invoices, ever. Full breakdown: how our fees work.
Do you speak Spanish?

Will you handle just one hearing, or review documents I drafted myself?
Not as a rule. We take matters on a full-representation basis. Limited scope engagements are rare, considered case by case, and only where the matter justifies it. We do not appear for a single hearing or deposition as a bargain substitute for having a lawyer on the case, and we do not review or sign off on filings you drafted on your own or with an AI tool. Clients hire us to take the whole matter and run it.
Can I work with Scheer Legal remotely?
For estate planning, outside general counsel, and many business matters, yes. We work statewide with secure document signing, video consultations, and remote-friendly intake. Some matters require in-person work in specific counties; we'll tell you upfront when that's the case.
How quickly will I hear back from you?
Most initial inquiries get a same-day or next-business-day reply. Urgent matters (construction lien deadlines, accident claims, time-sensitive litigation) get treated as urgent, say so in your message and we will move accordingly.
