This website, scheerlegal.com, is operated by Dominic L. Scheer, PLLC, doing business as Scheer Legal ("Scheer Legal," "we," "us"). By using this site you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Attorney Advertising; No Legal Advice

This website is attorney advertising and general legal information. Nothing on it is legal advice for your situation, and reading it does not make you a client. The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely upon advertisements. Legal outcomes depend on specific facts; prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

No Attorney-Client Relationship

Using this site, submitting the contact form, or emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship is created only by a written engagement agreement signed by both you and Scheer Legal. Until then, do not send us confidential information, and be aware that anything you do send may not be privileged and does not obligate us to represent you. Time-sensitive matters (statutes of limitations, lien deadlines, hearing dates) should never be communicated solely through a website form.

Fee Descriptions on This Site

References on this site to flat fees describe how we typically price defined-scope work such as estate plans, business formations, and similar matters, and every fee is confirmed in a written engagement agreement before work begins. Flat fees do not apply to every matter: litigation and other open-ended engagements are billed hourly, personal injury matters are handled on a contingency basis, and some matters combine structures. Costs and expenses (filing fees, recording fees, experts) are separate from attorney's fees and are addressed in the engagement agreement. No fee description on this site is an offer to handle any particular matter at any particular price.

Interactive Tools and Calculators

Tools on this site, including the construction lien deadline calculator, apply general statutory rules to the dates you enter. They are informational only. Real deadlines depend on facts the tools do not capture, statutes change, and the tools may contain errors. Do not act or refrain from acting based on a tool's output without advice from a licensed attorney who has reviewed your situation.

Intellectual Property

The content of this site (text, videos, graphics, logos, and design) belongs to Scheer Legal or its licensors. You may view, download, and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, scrape, harvest, or use the content to train commercial datasets, or use our name or logo, without our written permission. Fair use remains what the law says it is.

Governing Law and Venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of the use of this site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version posted here, with its effective date, governs your use of the site.
